Casa Kula — Lake Atitlan, Guatemala

By making a reservation at Casa Kula or using our facilities, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before your stay.

1. About Casa Kula

Casa Kula is a boutique hotel and food & beverage operation located at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. We are a Guatemalan registered entity operating in full compliance with Guatemalan law.

Online reservations for Casa Kula accommodations are managed exclusively through our authorized booking partner, Book Atitlan LLC, operating at bookatitlan.com. If you booked through that platform, your reservation agreement and payment terms are governed by Book Atitlan LLC’s Terms & Conditions in addition to these property-level terms.

2. Scope of Services

Casa Kula provides the following services:

  • Boutique hotel accommodation

  • Food and beverage services at our on-site restaurant and bar

  • Common area amenities including [LIST YOUR AMENITIES e.g. pool, garden, lake access]

Casa Kula does not offer, facilitate, promote, or endorse any of the following:

  • Therapeutic, medical, or clinical services of any kind

  • Substance-assisted, psychedelic, or plant medicine programs

  • Any activity that is illegal under Guatemalan law or international law

All services available at Casa Kula are lawful under Guatemalan law and consistent with our registration and operating license as a hospitality property.

3. Reservations & Check-In

3.1 Booking

All reservations must be made through bookatitlan.com or by contacting us directly via the channels listed on this website. Reservations are confirmed only upon receipt of written confirmation from Book Atitlan LLC or Casa Kula directly.

3.2 Check-In & Check-Out

Standard check-in time is 3:00 PM. Standard check-out time is 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out may be available upon request, subject to availability, and may incur an additional charge. Guests are required to present a valid government-issued photo ID at check-in.

3.3 Minimum Age

The lead guest on any reservation must be at least 18 years of age. Casa Kula reserves the right to refuse check-in if this requirement is not met.

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@casakula.com or via the booking platform used to make the reservation. The following terms apply:

  • Cancellations more than 30 days prior to arrival: full refund of accommodation charges

  • Cancellations 15–30 days prior to arrival: 50% refund of accommodation charges

  • Cancellations fewer than 15 days prior to arrival: no refund

  • No-shows: no refund

Refunds for reservations made through Book Atitlan LLC are processed by Book Atitlan LLC and subject to their refund processing timeline. Casa Kula is not responsible for delays in refund processing by third-party booking or payment platforms.

Casa Kula reserves the right to modify cancellation terms for peak seasons, holidays, or special events. Any such modifications will be disclosed at the time of booking.

5. House Rules

To ensure a peaceful and respectful environment for all guests, the following rules apply:

  • Quiet hours are observed between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM

  • Smoking is not permitted inside any indoor area of the property

  • Pets are not permitted on the property unless prior written approval has been obtained

  • Guests are responsible for any damage caused to property, furnishings, or equipment during their stay

  • Unauthorized guests are not permitted in rooms overnight without prior approval

  • Casa Kula reserves the right to remove any guest from the property who engages in disruptive, illegal, or unsafe behavior without refund

6. Third-Party Facilitators & Events

From time to time, independent third-party facilitators may rent space at Casa Kula to host their own programs or events. In such cases:

  • The third-party facilitator is solely responsible for the content, conduct, and legality of their program

  • Casa Kula does not endorse, supervise, or assume liability for any third-party facilitated program

  • Guests participating in third-party programs do so under the terms provided by that facilitator, not Casa Kula

  • Casa Kula expressly prohibits any facilitator from conducting illegal activities on the property. All facility rental agreements include this prohibition and transfer liability to the facilitator.

If you are uncertain whether a program or event is operated by Casa Kula or an independent facilitator, please contact us before booking or attending.

7. Food & Beverage

Our on-site restaurant operates during posted hours, which may vary seasonally. Casa Kula is not responsible for any adverse reactions to food or beverages consumed on the property by guests with undisclosed allergies or dietary restrictions. Guests with allergies or dietary requirements should notify us in advance so we can accommodate them where possible.

8. Limitation of Liability

Casa Kula’s liability to any guest shall not exceed the total amount paid for that guest’s stay. Casa Kula is not liable for:

  • Loss or theft of personal belongings on the property

  • Personal injury sustained on the property due to a guest’s own negligence

  • Services, programs, or activities conducted by independent third-party facilitators

  • Force majeure events including natural disasters, power outages, water disruptions, or government-mandated closures

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Guatemala. Any disputes arising from a guest’s stay at Casa Kula shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Guatemala.
